Updated 22 September 2026. A man has been charged with murder after a man died in Shustoke Road in Solihull on Saturday evening.
West Midlands Police says Kevin Johnson, aged 38, of Birmingham, has been charged with the murder of Stuart Nash. Mr Nash died after an incident in the road on Saturday 19 September.
Johnson appeared before magistrates in Coventry on Tuesday morning. He was remanded to appear again at Birmingham Crown Court on 24 September. The force published the charge at 2pm on Tuesday (West Midlands Police, 22 September 2026).
A woman aged 35, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail while the investigation continues.
Criminal proceedings are now active. Nothing on this page should be read as a finding of guilt, and Johnson is entitled to the presumption of innocence until a court decides otherwise.

The family’s tribute
Mr Nash’s family paid tribute to him through the force. They said: “Stuart was a devoted dad to his six children, including his step daughter, and being a dad was one of the most important things in his life.”
“He was also a grandad and a fiancé who was loved by his family. Stuart was our rock, and his loss has left a huge hole in our lives.”
“He was loving and kind and would do anything for the people he loved.”
“We will miss his smile, his laughter and simply having him around. There are no words that can describe the pain of losing Stuart, and our lives will never be the same. He will always be loved and never forgotten.”
The family also asked to be left alone. “We ask for privacy at the terrible time in order to come to terms with this loss,” they said.
What the force has not said
The force has not given Mr Nash’s age, has not said how he was injured, and has not said where in Shustoke Road he was found. It has published no road closure for the street or for any road around it.
West Midlands Ambulance Service has published nothing on the incident on its public incident record, checked again on Tuesday afternoon.

Where Shustoke Road is
Shustoke Road is a residential street in Elmdon Heath, about half a mile north east of Mell Square in Solihull town centre. It runs between Broomfields Avenue and Broomfields Farm Road, a short walk from the A41 Solihull bypass. It is in the B91 postcode and in the Silhill ward of Solihull Council (ONS postcode data via postcodes.io).
For policing it sits inside the Lyndon, Elmdon, Olton and Silhill neighbourhood, one of the Solihull teams within West Midlands Police (West Midlands Police neighbourhood page).
What the crime record shows
Home Office street-level data for that neighbourhood runs to July 2026, the most recent month published. Over the 12 months to July, police recorded 2,956 crimes there, of which 1,185 were classed as violence and sexual offences. That works out at about 99 a month.
Shustoke Road itself appears rarely. Across the same 12 months, 25 crimes were mapped to the road, 13 of them violence and sexual offences, five public order and the rest single reports of criminal damage, bicycle theft, vehicle crime, other theft and anti-social behaviour.

And the violence category is broad: it runs from common assault to the most serious offences, so it is a measure of reported incidents, not of killings.
